SRT was conceptualized in 2002, and started as compassionate platform for dialogue – STR brought together leaders of major ethnic nationalities on the plateau for a one day dialogue on the incessant conflict and wanton killing and destruction of properties in Jos, Plateau state. Supported by the leadership of the National Youth Services Corps (NYSC) Plateau State, SRT Convener, Eric Adile Iroajugh, hosted a one-day Sustainability Roundtable on the theme:  – ‘Peace and Conflict Resolutions – The Plateau Experience’, at the popular Hill Top Hotel, Jos. The Roundtable was chaired by the late Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Dr. Fom Bot. Leaders of  ethnic groups, security agencies and representatives of Plateau state government participated at the dialogue.

Over the years, SRT has initiated and promoted dialogue, literacy and learning facilitation to drive implementation and sustainability rural project. In 2015 SRT represented by the Convener collaborated with the Lagos State Park and Garden to host the first Green Lagos Conference. SRT has recorded several positive collaborations at institutional and grassroots levels to consolidate its efforts in sustainability research, learning and awareness in Nigeria.
